New York’s longest-running weekly quiz. Every Wednesday night since February 2006, Tony Hightower has hosted The Drunken Smartass Olympics, a weekly trivia party with many prizes of various stripes and “rivers of highly affordable libations, served by good people”.
Tony & co-host Lisa McCorvie come up with 51 questions a week on as wide a range of topics as possibe, from ancient history and mythology to the latest Hilary Duff single, from Cleopatra to Queen Latifah, from Richard the Lionheart to Richard Nixon, from Bauhaus to Acid House, from the Renaissance to Ren & Stimpy, from Marie Curie to vindaloo curry, from religion to Bad Religion, from Shakespeare to Shakur.
Each week features an “On This Day In History” round, a rapid-fire “Name Threes” round, and the best-curated audio round in the city. He takes pride in the quality of the questions.
Teams of up to 5 players allowed. Frequent drink specials and high-quality bar food.
