Do you ever perform in NYC?
We LOVE to play the city, but do not really have a following there. We are currently looking for a great rock venue in the city where we can play all night.
Tell us a story or anecdote about performing live.
The first time we performed live it was very scary for all of us. It was a battle of the bands, and all that could have gone wrong did that day. We were all so nervous, but we got on stage and kicked ass. We were so good that the band going on after us didn’t even want to play, they said it was like Led Zeppelin opening up for The Monkees. To make a long story short, we went home winners of the first round.
Any advice to someone just starting out?
Keep at it, there will always be a dick in the band.
You are performing in the JDRF Jam, a benefit for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. How did you get involved in this event?
Michael T. Masciale contacted me about it and I knew without a doubt it was something I wanted to be a part of and to help the cause.
Hooker is scheduled to perform at 3pm on Sunday at the JDRF Jam at Mr. Beery’s. Below is a video of their song “Summerdays”:
