R.I.P. New Jersey-born actor Robert Hegyes, known for portraying Juan Epstein on the 1970 sitcom “Welcome Back Kotter“. He died Jan. 26, 2012 from a heart attack. He was 60 years old. The character he portrayed, Juan Epstein, is honored in NYC at the lower east side bar Epstein’s Bar.
