Live Music Spotlight: The Saw Doctors
Saw Doctors tour schedule for the USA for March, 2009 has twelve dates,
including two New York shows at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square
on Friday March 13 and Saturday March 14.

The Saw Doctors have a new DVD, Clare Island to Cape Cod,
and a companion live CD, Live at The Melody Tent.
The DVD consists of a new documentary film which Steve Lock shot last August
and September – it includes some great concert footage from the Cape Cod Melody Tent show last August.

Every year during the St Patrick’s season, NYC singer/songwriter Joe Hurley salutes his Irish heritage with a blazing all-night long musical extravaganza that celebrates Ireland’s musical gifts to the world — The All-Star Irish Rock Revue. Gathering friends and performers from NYC punk-rock legends to Broadway stars to best-selling novelists to star comedians and rock legends — from Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famers to up and coming local singers, the All-Star Irish Rock Revue is “the biggest St Pat’s party in town” Irish Voice; and raises a glass to ‘The Great Irish Songbook’ as the guest singers perform the songs of Ireland’s greatest.

Hosted by Joe Hurley & acclaimed songwriter/singer and EVR Radio DJ Ed Rogers,
the Irish Rock Revue kicks off at 9pm sharp with a parade of extraordinary singers taking the stage.

The Gotham Girls Roller Derby kicks off their 2009 season at the end of March…
Gotham Girls Roller Derby
The Gotham Girls All Stars, reigning Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) National Champions,
will take on the Boston Massacre, ranked #3 in the WFTDA Eastern Region. This is the Gotham Girls All-Star Team’s first bout since they took the #1 spot in the nation at the Northwest Knockdown National Tournament in November 2008.

The Wall Street Traitors, the Gotham Girls’ All-Boro team, will take on the Suburban Brawl,
the All-Star team of the Westchester-based Suburbia Roller Derby.
The action kicks off on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Schwartz Athletic Center
located at Long Island University in Brooklyn.

Favorites like Bonnie Thunders, Suzy Hotrod, and Sweet Sherry Pie will be leading the pack and reminding us all why Gotham’s skaters deserve their nickname, “the Beasts from the East!”

Tickets are on sale now for the entire home season – all at Hunter College in Manhattan.
