Attention bar & restaurant owners in NYC.
Below is a document which appears to be a cheat sheet for State Liquor Authority enforcement employees on what to look for when investigating bars & restaurants for covid-19 pandemic social distancing violations.

We received this sheet anonymously, from somebody that “got it from a bar owner, who got it from a bar owner”.

SLA Enforcement Cheatsheet

What to look for and what to document:

Look for:
any indoor consumption of food & drink in NYC. NYC is not permitted indoor dining. businesses cannot allow consumption inside under any circumstances.

– document: photos of consumption/license certificate; identify manager/person in charge; include # of people inside.

Look for:
any consumption in NYC or on Long Island which is not by a patron seated at table/bar/counter spaced 6 feet apart or with parties of more than 10.

– document: photos of consumption/distancing/license certificate; identify manager/person in charge; include # of people violating.

Look for:
Patrons standing (not seated) around the business’ premises; there should be no lingering or standing patrons, e.g., they should be headed to the bathroom (and wearing a mask), entering or exiting, or should be seated.

Look for:
Employees not wearing a mask
– document: photos of employees/license certificate; identify manager/person in charge

Look for:
Any consumption of alcoholic beverages inside a corner store or liquor store. On premises consumption is always prohibited in these off-premises stores.

Look for:
sale of beer, wine or liquor or cocktails “to go” at a restaurant or bar without requiring a patron to purchase a substantial food item.

– document: was the bevarage actually alcoholic (purchase or ask patrons); photos of sale/consumption/license certificate; identify manager/person in charge; # of people.

Look for:
To-go/off-premises sales of any alcoholic beverages in open containers, e.g., a cup with no lid, a cup with a straw inserted.
