The first ever CBGB Festival takes place this week, July 5-8. Continuing the renegade spirit of the legendary rock venue which it gets its name, it features emerging artist showcases, music business conferences, rock and roll film screenings, industry panel discussions and a whiskey fest.
Artist include: Krist Novoselic, Wyclef Jean, Superchunk, Agnostic Front, Fishbone, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
Novoselic, the event’s keynote speaker, will participate in an audience Q & A after his address.
The four day festival will present bands in venues, including a free outdoor concert in Times Square (stages on Broadway at 46th St. & 51st St.) Noon to 6pm
starring: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Hold Steady, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Superchunk, Glint, Upper West & Zulu Wave
