Help Alewife Rebuild

One of the many businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy was the craft beer bar Alewife, in Long Island City, Queens.

In just one year, Alewife NYC has become a fixture in Long Island City for good drinks, good food, good service and good company. They have sustained massive internal damage due to the storm surge and floods from Hurricane Sandy. Flood levels rose more than 4 feet, wiping out their flooring, equipment, refrigeration, tables & chairs, and their food and beverage inventory.
Even as their own re-building efforts have taken root, the entire team at Alewife has been collecting and delivering donations, food, clothing and equipment to the storm-ravaged areas of the Rockaways and Staten Island.
Now, to get Alewife back on track, they need to replace motors, floors, refrigerators, ovens, lights, computers and much more.

Patrick, Daniel, Roz & Amanda have set up a fund to help them rebuild their establishment.

They have set up three suggested donation levels, which will also entitle donors to special benefits once the bar is re-opened:

Tripel: $100 – get 10% off your check for life, plus a VIP ticket to the Grand Re-Opening Party (t.b.a.)
Dubbel: $250 – all Tripel benefits plus membership to the Mug Club
Blonde: $500 – all Dubbel benefits plus name engraved on patio of heroes

They continue to use Alewife as a drop off point for donations in the coming days and to coordinate supplies to people in need on Staten Island & the Rockaways. (In fact, for every donation made to Alewife, they will donate 10% to shelters to help the relief effort.)
