Great Guinness Toast in NYC: Friday, February 18, 2011

Tonight is the annual Great Guinness Toast.

Guinness drinkers all over the world are set to raise their pints simultaneously in the 19th annual Guinness Toast. According to TheGreatGuinnessToast.com (an unofficial site), it is always on the 3rd Friday of February, while Wikipedia says it is on February 13. Since Mullaney’s Harp & Fiddle Pub in Pittsburgh, PA, originators of the toast, are holding their toast on Friday the 18th this year, that’s good enough for us. In New York (and anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone) the toast occurs at 11pm ET.

In our continuous efforts to “connect the fun to the fun people”, we provide you with our second annual list of places to get a great pint of Guinness in NYC. (see last year’s list).
The list below is simply some of my favorite places to enjoy a Guinness in NYC. Regular readers may notice many returning bars from last year’s list, because if I find a good thing, I like to stick with it. But I have added more this year. They are in no particular rank order, just sorted by neighborhood. Feel free to add your own favorites in the comments section. Slainte!

Midtown:
Tracks Raw Bar & Grill in Penn Station is rightfully very proud of the pints they pour, winning a gold medal from Guinness for their quality.
