Hurricane Relief Beer: Surge Protector Launch

surge-protector
A new craft beer just released, Surge Protector IPA, will raise funds for hurricane relief.

Sandy Relief Beer started as a video project by Matt Furman and Niko Krommydas. It grew to become a collaborative relief effort by eight local breweries after Hurricane Sandy devastated Long Island and destroyed Barrier Brewing Company in Oceanside. Participants from the Long Island brewing community gathered at Blue Point Brewing Company in December to brew Surge Protector IPA, with each brewery donating an ingredient to create a new India Pale Ale. Proceeds from the sale of Surge Protector will aid victims of Hurricane Sandy and the recovery efforts of Barrier Brewery, heavily damaged in floods caused by Hurricane Sandy.
Long Island Cares, Inc. will receive one-half of all proceeds from Sandy Relief Beer. Clare Rose Inc. is funding Sandy Relief Beer and handling all distribution of Surge Protector IPA.

Participating Breweries:
Barrier Brewing Company
Blind Bat Brewery
Blue Point Brewing Company
Great South Bay Brewery
Greenport Harbor Brewing Company
Long Ireland Beer Company
Port Jeff Brewing Company
Spider Bite Beer Company
