Joe Hurley’s Irish Rock Review

Doors open at 6:30pm, with a special guest act opening the show at 7pm.
Next, Joe’s band, Rogues March take the stage at 8pm for a set which is sure to include such favorites as “Amsterdam Mistress” and “Shut Up and Drink”.
Then at 9pm, and lasting well into the night, is the 9th Annual All-Star Irish Rock Review. And they do mean all-star. Stars of the downtown NY music scene are joined by an eclectic group of professional entertainers to sing a greatest hits of Irish rock music.

Backed by an incredible house band, co-hosts Joe Hurley & Ed Rogers will introduce a seemingly endless barrage of knock-out singers, each belting out one Irish rocker after another.
Band members this year include Steve Goulding (Mekons), Mark Bosch (Ian Hunter), Sal Maida (Cracker), Tish n Snooky, Megan Weeder (Mellencamp), Pat Robinson, and MD Chris Flynn.

Expect to hear favorites from U2, Elvis Costello, Thin Lizzy, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, Morrissey, Undertones, SLF, The Pogues, John Lydon, The Dubliners, The Waterboys plus a few traditional gems and (the proverbial) “more” (i.e. ‘The Great Irish Songbook’).

Special guests include Chis Collingwood (Fountains of Wayne), Stew (star of Broadway’s new hit show – Passing Strange), Ireland’s The High Kings (straight from their Radio City performance) and Stephen Frost, star of UK’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?”

Also confirmed as guest performers this year include members of the New York Dolls, The Dictators and the Patti Smith Band, Ellen Foley, Willie Nile, and SNL’s Christine Ohlman. Other special guests to be announced.
