Tavern on Third is a new high-end sports bar just opened in Murray Hill, in the former Canz-a-Citi Roadhouse (and before that, Choice Restaurant).
Tavern on Third features individual draft tables, where you can pour your own beer right from the table, with a computerized system keeping track of how much you drink (kind of like a gas pump for beer).
For sports fans, Tavern on Third has over 30 40″ HD TVs and three 70″ TVs, and they will play the sound for all New York teams, and other big games (such as this weekend’s NCAA tournament.
For private parties, The Library, a private room near the back, accommodates 50 people and has a private bar, big screen TV, and a separate sound system for music or the game of your choice.
Tavern on Third’s menu is compiled of “gourmet bar food” and everything is made from scratch. Featured items include a blue cheese stuffed burger topped with apple slices and a honey spread, Cordon Bleu Mac and Cheese Balls, and Chef’s famous “smashed” potatoes.
