The Bars of the East VillageThe East Village is an historic neighborhood in New York City. It is the part of Manhattan below 14th St. south to Houston St. and from Broadway east to the East River. Once considered part of the Lower East Side, its neighborhood roots includes Russian & Ukrainian settlements, as well as the birth of the punk movement. Points of interest include Tompkins Square Park, Cooper Union, and Alphabet City.
