“The Streets Of New York” is an Irish ballad that tells the story of an Irishman who grows up to become a policeman in NYC. Long a favorite among cops of Irish descent, The NYPD Emerald Society has just made it their official song.
Liam Reilly, lead singer of Ireland’s legendary band Bagatelle, penned the song that will be honored tonight, October 1st, 2009. To mark the occasion, and the band’s 30th anniversary, Bagatelle will perform an outdoor concert that will also serve as a fundraiser for the NYPD Widows & Children Fund.
Irish born, NYC based musician Enda Keegan grew up influenced by Bagatelle. He has produced this concert as a labor of love, and deserves our support.
