Mardi Gras 2017 in NYC

Where to celebrate Mardi Gras in NYC

Mardi Gras in NYC

Mardi Gras is the custom of power-loading your gluttonous behavior into one night before Ash Wednesday (hence the name Fat Tuesday). The first Mardi Gras in America was celebrated in Mobile, Alabama (then the capital of French Louisiana). New Orleans has become known as the capital of Mardi Gras, but if you can’t make it to The Big Easy, you can catch the New Orleans flavor, party atmosphere or live jazz right here in NYC. This year’s Fat Tuesday is Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Facebook users, check out our Mardi Gras flyer gallery. Below are some party suggestions for celebrating Mardi Gras NYC. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
