All monies raised at this event will go directly to either long term recovery in NYC or relief efforts in the Philippines. This event supports individuals and families in Rockaway, Coney Island, and Gerritsen Beach. One of the honorees for the event has been a volunteer firefighter in her community and worked for the past year to support those that were impacted by the storm with little focus on her own needs. Part of the proceeds will help her renovate her house that was majorly damaged by the storm. Global DIRT (Disaster Immediate Response Team), a non-profit organization active in Sandy relief, already has boots on the ground. All donations they receive go directly to supporting the relief work in the Philippines.
The raffle will include items like a Zog Sports free registration ($150), a foodie experience courtesy of Beecher’s Homemade Cheese, two tickets to Hack the Met, a mini-kegarator from Heineken, and a date night in the East Village.
