R.I.P. Kevin F. Smith

We were saddened to learn that Long Island musician Kevin Smith passed away on Saturday, August 8. Kevin was a regular performer of Irish and American music on Long Island and in New York City.

I first met him playing a gig at Marty O’Brien’s in NYC a few years back. He regularly performed at Muldoon’s in NYC, The Irish Cottage in Forest Hill’s, Katie Daly’s in Massapequa, Lily Flanagan’s in Babylon and Jackie Reilly’s in Bethpage, where he recorded a live CD. He died shortly after performing at Katie Daly’s on Saturday night.

The wake is at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, 125 W. Old Country Road in Hicksville, NY on Tuesday, 8/11 and Wednesday, 8/12: 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral Mass on Thursday, Aug. 13, 9:45am at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hicksville, NY.
