Coney Island Polar Bear Club New Year’s Day Celebration

Join the Coney Island Polar Club for our traditional New Year’s Day celebration.
Meet us on the Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue at noon with your bathing suit,
some surf boots or old sneakers and plenty of warm clothes.
Changing facilites are provided by the NYC Parks Department.
Swim at 1pm sharp. Arrive early to take advantage of all the pre-swim activities.
The Coney Island Polar Bear Club supports Camp Sunshine,
a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
All participants are encouraged to make a generous pledge
to this worthwhile organization that supports many New York families.
Make a donation to Camp Sunshine and receive a free breakfast and all-day admission to the New York Aquarium.

Special this year: Polar Bear Club member Strongman Steve Ekstance,
who recently pulled a dumptruck by his teeth and dead lifted 1000 lbs. in support of Camp Sunshine, will be appearing on the boardwalk at noon performing similar feats.
Pledge online: freezinforareason.com or in person on New Year’s Day.
