The Bars of the Lower East Side

Bars of the Lower East SideThe Lower East Side is a neighborhood in Manhattan on the east side, between Bowery and the East River, south of Houston St. and north of Canal St.  It has historically been an immigrant, working class neighborhood.  It has undergone major changesin the past two decades via gentrification and real estate development.  It remains a popular nightlife destination for bars, lounges, restaurants, hotels and live music venues.
